Terms of use

Set legal_entity and legal_jurisdiction in
_config.yml, and have a lawyer review this page before launch.
It is written to be honest and readable, not to be a substitute for legal
advice.
By using CareDuo you agree to these terms.
What CareDuo is
CareDuo is a reminder and record-keeping app for medication that has already been prescribed or chosen. It reminds people when a dose is due, records what they confirm, and shows that record to people they have invited.
What CareDuo is not
This is the most important section on the page.
- Not medical advice. CareDuo does not diagnose, treat or advise on any condition, and does not recommend dosages.
- Not a drug interaction checker. It does not evaluate whether medications are safe together. Ask a pharmacist or doctor.
- Not a medical device, and not certified as one in any jurisdiction.
- Not an emergency service. It does not detect falls, cannot summon help, and must never be relied on to raise an alarm about a person's safety.
- Not a guarantee that a notification will arrive. Notification delivery depends on the device, its settings, its battery and its operating system. Do not use CareDuo as the only safeguard for a dose whose omission would be dangerous.
Decisions about medication belong with you and your doctor or pharmacist. If CareDuo's record disagrees with what you remember, trust your judgement and ask a professional.
Your account
You need an account to use CareDuo, and you are responsible for what happens under it. You must be at least 16 years old. Keep your device secure: anyone who can unlock your phone can see your Care Circle.
Care Circles and shared information
Inviting a caregiver shares your medication list and dose history with them. Only invite people you trust with health information.
If you are a caregiver, you are responsible for treating what you see as private, and for the accuracy of any dose you record on someone else's behalf.
You may remove a caregiver at any time.
Accuracy of the information you enter
CareDuo records what you tell it. It cannot verify that a medication name, dosage or schedule matches a prescription. Entering these correctly, and keeping them current, is your responsibility.
Acceptable use
Do not use CareDuo to monitor a person without their knowledge and consent; to attempt to gain access to a Care Circle you were not invited to; to interfere with or probe the service; or to break any applicable law.
CareDuo requires an invitation to be accepted on the recipient's own device precisely so that covert monitoring is not possible.
Subscriptions
Some features may require a paid subscription, purchased through the App Store and governed by Apple's terms. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; cancel through your Apple account settings.
Medication reminders will not stop working because a subscription lapsed. A safety-relevant reminder is never held hostage to a payment.
Availability
CareDuo is provided as it is. We aim for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and the app depends on services outside our control: Apple's notification service, network connectivity and your device.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law permits, CareDuo and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app, including any missed dose, undelivered notification or reliance on a record in the app.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Ending your use
You may stop using CareDuo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.
Changes
These terms may change; the "last updated" date above will reflect it, and material changes will be announced in the app.
